This project is to create new insights on "solar mobility" on water. "Planetsolar" resembles the first tour around the globe with a boat powered by solar energy only.

It´s a courageous, encouraging and forward-looking project, which will most certainly spark new ideas for the conventional shipbuilding industry. Rivendell Holding AG will develop a seaworthy and solar-powered catamaran to provide for the Project Planetsolar. The development and construction of the boat will take up to two years time.

The world tour will be the actual test for the newly developed boat. The final purpose of this venture is to prove the commercial and private utilization of a solar-powered boat.
